RBC Global Pricer Calculator
The RBC Global Pricer Calculator is a modern pricing and rates calculator built within Springboard (a desktop tool built for RBC investment bankers to compose bespoke business workspaces) to replace the manual, Excel-based workflows bankers previously relied on. The tool automates complex calculations across currencies by integrating live data feeds, benchmarks, and quote row inputs (such as reference rates and re-offer spreads). By centralizing and streamlining the pricing process, Global Pricer delivers greater accuracy, consistency, and efficiency—helping bankers spend less time on manual calculations and more time on client engagement.
Bankers and clients needed to calculate prices and rates for financial products across different currencies. Previously, this work was done manually in Excel spreadsheets, requiring extensive input of quote rows (e.g., reference rate, re-offer spread rate) and reliance on external data feeds. The process was slow, error-prone, and lacked standardization, making it difficult to generate client-ready outputs efficiently.

The goal was to modernize the pricing workflow by creating a dedicated calculator tool within Springboard that consolidated data, automated calculations, and produced clear, shareable outputs. Key design solutions were:
Dynamic input grid for quote rows (reference rate, spread rate, etc.), designed to feel familiar to Excel users but more structured.
Automated calculations leveraging live data feeds and benchmarks, removing the need for manual formulas.
Customizable output grid where users can easily view results and select which data points to include.
Exportable print-ready reports with banker-selected fields, ensuring consistency and professionalism in client-facing deliverables.
Integration within Springboard, allowing seamless use alongside other banker tools.
Global Pricer replaced manual Excel workflows with a streamlined, modernized pricing tool. Bankers gained speed and accuracy in their calculations, reducing operational risk and freeing up time for client engagement. The output reports provided a polished, standardized format, improving client confidence and communication. Overall, the tool significantly enhanced efficiency and aligned with the firm’s push to modernize core workflows within Springboard.
